Decided since I'm a huge slacker at going to the gym, I am going to give the 30 Day Shred a try!
Today hubby and I worked out on level 1. It was a pretty good ass kicking. I had to stop a few times during the 25min's, but over all tried to really keep up w/ it even though I'm catching onto a pretty nasty cold and not feeling to well. After we were done, I was sweating like I just ran a damn marathon! (I'm sure it was due to the humidity that recently started hitting us hard, in preparation for summer! But it was nice! Even though I could barley walk up and down the stairs, my legs were so wobbly and shaky, I still enjoyed it!
Today I'm getting my new bike w/ a spiffy seat on the back for Sophia to ride on, so I'm hoping for a bike ride tonight w/ the kids!
Day 1=
Level 1
136 weigh in (uugg....all because I had the smart idea of eating my weight in sushi last night....)
(measuring tape will come into play as soon as I get my butt to the store and buy one!)

Trying
I have really been trying to get back into gear, and excersizing again!
Hubby is back into it, and doing great! Now if I could just follow in his footsteps!
On Friday Soph and I went to the gym. I completed 40mins on the stairmaster, burned 300cal's and climed 121 flights of steps! (Most of the workout was on level 7, I jumped to level 9 durring the last 5 mins!)
On Monday I went bymyself to the gym, and got done 47mins on the stairmaster, burned 400cals and climed 162 flights of steps! (most of the work out was done on Level 8)
I have a plan of going to the gym Monday, Wendsday and Fridays. On the opposite days I want to walk/jog around the neighbourhood!
So far so good, but of corse, now im sick =( Taking today and possibly tomorrow off!
I hope this hard work pays off!
My gym weight in (which is usually a little higher then my scale at home.) Was 135 on the dot!

Fish head & swimmer crab stew
A few days ago I decided to give Fish tacos another try. I am not sure why, but I cant seems to find a fry batter I really like, and I keep failing at making a really yummy sauce to top the fish and coleslaw. To make matters worse, I cant decide if I like corn or flour tortillas better. It a very confusing topic, and things can (and usually do) go wrong.
So we walked into the fish market at the Gushikawa/Awase pier, and found a bunch of yummy ocean creatures that I had many many plans for! Only problem is...I hate frozen fish. Even if its super fresh, the freezer does something pretty nasty to fish. So I bought just enough to make two meals.
1- Two small white fish, to make 5 fish tacos.
2- I asked the guys who clean, scale and fillet the fish, to bag up the bones and heads. In the same bag we bought 4 swimmer crabs. They were adorable (and yes still alive!!!) Little blue, grey and silver crabs, with very little meat. Primarily used to flavor broth for soups and stews. Which was what I wanted the heads, bones and crabs for!
~I added a mixture of veggies (mushrooms, leeks, cabbage, and carrots) to water mixed with a touch of miso paste and soy.
Top w/ fish heads and bones.
~Lucky for me, the fish market guys chopped the crabs in half, and by the time we got home and the little guys sat in the fridge for about a hour, they seemed to be dead. So it was no problem for me to throw them into the stew steamer and not feel guilty about me being the one who killed the little guys!
So I topped the stew w/ the crabs.

~I seasoned w/ some garlic salt, fresh ground pepper and some chunks of butter, and we were really to rock and roll!!!!
There was no time, or desire to take pictures of the aftermath, because everyone ran into the kitchen to get their bowl full of stew and dig in! My house smelled amazing, and the stew tasted even better then it smelled!!!

We all loved it, despite Sophia being slightly afraid of the crab shells...Shes a girl, and things like this are scary!

Please forgive me!
Please forgive me bloggy blog! You have been ignored for to long!
I think my little blog is very upset at me, so upset that no matter what I do, this picture will NOT load in the right position.
Anyway, look at how "green" we are! I can now do all of our shopping without using one plastic bag!
Not only am I proud because I have been cutting down on our bi-weekly grocery bill by $50-$100 each trip!!! I know it wont last long, because my mommy, little brother and little sister are coming to visit! YAY!!! With the holidays right around the corner, our food bill is going to be pretty hefty. We always have a FULL house on the holidays. We figure, if your going to be over seas and so far away from your family, take care of others! We always open our house to new (and old) families on the island, and to all the single hard working military friends that we have made along the way.

This year should be interesting! We are in the new house, and the kitchen is about 2times smaller then our last! Last year on Thanksgiving we had about 13 people over for dinner, then a ton more that came afterwards for the real party! This year, along with my family, and all of our friends, we are having over a few Japanese families that Andre works with. This should be a fun year! I think we are going to set up a few large tables and chairs in the yard, hang up a bunch of pretty lights and let everyone enjoy the island weather in November!
I just love the holidays and I cant wait to share this one with good friends and the most wonderful family!!!

Jumping back into things, yet again..
I am terrible... up in weight and feeling disgusting...
I am finally jumping back into the exercise and trying to diet again...
Yesterday we went to the park and ran on the 3K path. I think I did just about 2 miles then walked a little. I also did some lunges while the kids played!
The boys brought their bikes and they got in a good 2 miles also, then got inpatient and left to go play. I guess biking 2 miles for the is better then nothing!
Today I packed the baby in the car and headed to the gym! Im so glad I went!
I did 13 min's on the stairmaster (burned 108 calories). Then a treadmil opened up, so I jumped on it before anyone else had the chance!
Ran for a mile (burned 140 calories)
Did a few lunges, pushups, and tummy exercises.
Yesterday we went looking for new running shoes. I know exactly what ones I want... Nike Free 3.0
And of course, they dont have the size I wear, or any size near mine! Now I have to wait a month unless I want to order online and play alot more...NO!
I cant wait to get them so I can be more motivated and comfortable and get rid of these 15 lbs that are killin me!

One day...
One day soon I will blog here again...
I have been in a rut... The weather had been crazy, with typhoons that decide last minute to turn and miss the island. I have been OVERLOADED with laundry, dishes and everything else in the house. I don't know whats going on with my lately but it's turning me into a different person. Someone that is not "me"...
I have been the worst, wanna-be vegetarian in the world. My diet is completely slacking...
So in all those sad depressing words...I promise one day soon, I will post a worth while blog!

I suck, and they suck...
I suck at the cabbage soup diet...LOL I have NO will power. Once I get hungry, I find whatever I can and go for it!
I did have soup for lunch yesterday, then I watched SATC (Sex and the City) and for a split second I saw Miranda eating pasta w/ red sauce while they were out on one of the group lunch dates. There sparked my intense craving for spaghetti!
So dinner was veggie spaghetti w/ whole wheat noodles.
After my soup diet failed, I figured a morning at the gym was in store.
I got myself, gym-ready and packed the kids in the car. Drove 20 mins to the gym and ended up walking in, then walking out...
(this is the part where "they suck" comes in...)
A guy working at the front counter got on my case about trying to bring in my 7 year old son (and the baby) to the Parents workout room) I guess there has been a rule that no one over 5 year old is allowed in the room. Humm...It sucks for me, because after going to that gym with my kids for a year and a half, I all the sudden get informed about the rule. So I guess my workout are going to be limited to hubbys days off, or until October, when it cools down a little bit outside and I am able to run again.
The thing about this that really made me mad, was that I was SO pumped to workout today. I think I could have done 3 miles today. I had endurance and the right mind set, then this guy killed it all...
